The City of Los Angeles recognized Boyle Heights Wolfpack founder Nissim Leon on July 26 at Los Angeles City Hall for his dedication to the community of Boyle Heights and youth organized sports.
Recognizing Leon as a role model for the lives of much of Boyle Heights’ teens and young adults, the Wolfpack youth football league founder, Roosevelt Roughrider football player and East Los Angeles College coach has devoted 25 years of his life to teaching football.
Councilman Jose Huizar spoke about the merits throughout Leon’s years of service for his community as Nissim accepted the award alongside family and friends who attended.
After years of serving the community of Boyle Heights, Leon plans to retire.
